Can Art make itself? It happens all the time!

Over the course of any in-progress painting, I seemingly always have various production artifacts leftover. Various pieces of cardboard to catch paint overspray, a variety of mixing trays and paper for palette knife dabbing or brush cleaning, etc.

These 'painting aids' can sometimes look interesting onto themselves and I usually take a quick photo of 'em for posterity's sake (at different points during the process). You start worrying though, when 'these ancillary materias' start looking more interesting than the 'contrived work' they're supporting. Ouch!
